S.S. Badger Carferry

The S.S. Badger carferry is Ludington’s most famous tourist attraction. . . and is loved by the local residents. Operating every May-October, the S.S. Badger makes its 4 hour journey across Lake Michigan to Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It’s an enjoyable mini-cruise experience, with onboard features such as live entertainment, free movies, shopping, restaurants, and cocktail service. You can even reserve a stateroom if you would like to sleep or have extra privacy. There are activities for the kids and a spacious deck where you can enjoy the sun and fresh air.

Ludington Pier House is just 12 blocks from the carferry dock, and arrangements can be made for taxi service. Once you arrive at the hotel, you’ll enjoy the view of the Ludington harbor, where you can watch the S.S. Badger sail in and out of port. And you can also view the spectacular sunsets that take place every evening over the lake.
